time out
some reach for the starsI reach for the heart - in me
this is my playground, my canvas, my place to scream,
my place to bleed
where is yours?I vote for peace
on earth, on Xanga and of my mind

I have several plces to be me! PEACE!
Sounds wonderful!
Dear Tess,
Thank you for visiting my blog, leaving a comment, and even telling me your referral site. I'm one of those "computer geek" type of guys who always has my tracker software screen open, so when I'm online, I usually know where someone has come from, where they visit , and how long they stay. I also introduce myself when I'm on a new blog if I'm not "known" by the blogger. When I visit a blog, it's like I'm visiting your home, so neat of you to give me information.
I saw your entry about nudity on Xanga as well. There's a canard that states people blog and use their computer while naked. I'm trying to make sure it's true!
In all seriousness, however, I loved your photo essay about your three cats. We have two, they're "geriatric cats", aged 17. Both are sisters, from the same litter. But I never can get them to "pose" like on Lolcat. I like the photo of Felix in the sink and the kitten photos of Hera.
As for this entry, I vote for peace too. I've always held the belief that perhaps the internet can help to spur global peace. It can also spread untruths and libel, but since it's a global medium I would hope that this will help spur communication and understanding.
Re: Your Fight Club allegory to blogging rules. My main pet peeve has always been "RYCs" without any allusion to the entry on which the comment is being placed. I don't blog like most people. I mainly leave comments from the ones I receive. I rarely "mention" other bloggers on my site, which is a 'repository" for my own "art and literature". I sometimes "blog about blogging" in my "News and Notes" columns, but most of my entries are filled with my own work, on which I crave feedback. I tend to stick around when I'm on a Xanga blog, and I can only write about four or five comments in one sitting. (Unless I'm doing Saturday morning commenting, like now, where I can spend a few hours going over dozens of sites.) So I read and leave comments either on multiple posts, or I reference other posts as I've done in this comment.
What irks me is when I leave a thoughtful comment on someone's post and they return the comment on a post on which I've worked for hours, and they just answer something about my comment and don't comment on the post on which they're leaving a comment. Sometimes I doubt if they even read it! This seldom happens, because by now most all my readers know this. That would be my addition to you set of rules.
Well, off to visit somebody else. (and I've got my clothes on.)

@baldmike2004 - do you mena you have software that gives you info beyond the Xanga footprints? I leave my footrpints because it's always nice if someone drops by my site even if they do not leave any kind of message.
I hope you understand why I found it so hilarious - I know it was just a coincidence - that's what made so extremly funny. It's like "nobody expected the Spanish Inquistion" - Monty Python.
It's amazing what power there is in the internet. And how it so often stirs up such deep emotions, for better or for worse. I strongly beleive that the one thing we need the most on this planet is more peace - but i do not know hhow it can be achoeved. But I am certain of one thing, it requires that we all make an effort to evolve and reflect.
I am very glad that you took your time to read my posts and give me personal feedback, thank you! Well, I've learned that there are a lot of cat lovers out there. and that it is an easy subject to relate to.
I am a bit lost on your next paragraph.
But in genreal I am thinking: to me itäs ok if someone leaves a comment on my most recent post just to say "hi" or "RYc-thanks". I do not mind if they donät read the post. It would be worse if they pretended they had read it... I think that many use this way of commenting instead of leaving a note in a guestbook. Maybe the creditcolletcting system makes people more eager to leave a comment with e-props rather than a message on the chatborad etc. But that is fine with me.
And, I am very gulity of leaving comments that are not related to the post where I leave it. Sometimes I do not know how to comment the post itself, sometimes the post does not actually interest me or its contents seems too personal. And another awful confession - I am very lazy when it comes to reading. I partially blame that upon the fact that I have macula degenreation/stargardt. I can only read/write so much in a day.
Also, since there is such a diversity of Xanga users, I try to be accepting of the fact that people use it so many diffrent ways, and at diffrent speed. I mean, when you were a teenager, would you really keep the pace you do now? And the teesn today have been surfing the net since they were kids - our whole culture is speeding up.
Yes, I relate to the creative urge, and wanting to be recognized for it.

xanga is a place that allows me to flex my creativity to its fullest capacity. I love it, and feel this same way.
ryc: yeah, my previous layout wasn't compatible with firefox, netscape, or safari although I personally liked it alot better :-p
When I was six or seven, I always spelled "piece of mind" instead of "peace of mind." I'm pretty sure I lost my third grade spelling bee that way.
@SomewhereInTheBetween - that's so adoarble! I could not even read when I was six or seven
I have no idea how I missed this... maybe I hadn't met you.... Although I am sure I had.
I wish I had payed more attention.
